Are you ready for one of the most anticipated Ordinals mints of the year? DeGods, one of the most celebrated NFT projects, is launching a public mint of 500 Ordinals NFTs on a first-come-first-serve basis. Ordinals enable the creation of NFTs directly on the Bitcoin blockchain by inscribing data on individual satoshis. In order to participate, you’ll need to have a self-custody Bitcoin wallet with 0.333+ BTC* ready to go.

Xverse, the most advanced and user-friendly Bitcoin wallet, makes it easy to mint DeGods Ordinals by providing both a standard BTC address for payments and a special Taproot-enabled BTC address for Ordinals in one wallet interface. Additionally, you can view your Ordinals in a beautiful gallery within the app, and when desired, you can send or trade them.

*Note: The actual mint fee may still change. We will update this article according to the latest available information.

Here’s a quick guide:

How Setup Xverse Wallet to Mint DeGods Ordinals:

Step 1

Download Xverse Ordinals wallet, available for iOS, Android or the Chrome Browser extension.

Step 2

You’ll need to own some BTC, in this case 0.333+ in addition to gas fees*, which you can purchase directly in your Xverse app using a fiat onramp service. Alternatively, you can “top up” your wallet by using the BTC receive address and send BTC to Xverse from another account or exchange. See tips below for gas fees.

Step 3

Keep an eye on the latest mint announcements. DeGods will reveal the website and exact mint mechanics prior to the actual mint to give all participants some time to familiarize themselves with the process. On the website, you will need to enter two addresses:

1. Your standard BTC address: This will be used for processing refunds in case you're not one of the lucky future owners of Bitcoin DeGods. In your Xverse wallet, navigate to the main tab, press the Receive button and choose “Bitcoin” address. Copy the Bitcoin address and insert in the correct field on the DeGods mint website (when released).

2. Ordinals recipient address: This will be used to receive the Bitcoin DeGod(s) in case you successfully manage to mint one. In your Xverse wallet, navigate to the NFT tab, press the Receive button and choose “Ordinals” address. Copy the Ordinals address (this is a taproot recipient address) and insert in the correct field on the DeGods mint website (when released).

Step 4

Send BTC to the address provided on the official DeGods mint website. Please be vigilant and beware of scams. Only follow instructions shared by the official DeGods channels and double, double-check you're on the correct website.

To send BTC, navigate to the main tab, click on Send button, select BTC, enter the correct amount and select the correct address as prompted by the official website. Then confirm the transaction.

That’s it! Your DeGods Ordinal(s) will appear under "Collectibles" immediately upon receipt. The timing for this will depend on inscription and sending process and network congestion.

If your mint is not successful, your BTC will be refunded to your BTC address.

Tips for DeGods Gas Fees

Since this is a public mint, gas fees could make all the difference of whether or not you’re the lucky owner of a DeGods NFT. As recommended by DeGods, you should deposit at least 0.333 BTC in your wallet. However since this is a public mint, we recommend factoring in more BTC to account for high network usage and therefore higher fees during the.

Note: Make sure you deposit the BTC into your Xverse Bitcoin payment address, which starts with the number 3. The address used to hold Ordinals starts with bc1.

When you submit your BTC transaction, Xverse will estimate the transaction fees automatically. However, for timely transaction confirmation, we recommend you use the “high” fee setting, or set a high custom fee value. The higher the fee, the more likely the transaction will be confirmed within 1 block.

Why do you need to set high fees? You will be competing with others to get your transaction mined in the next Bitcoin block. Miners will pick the transactions with the highest fees first to maximize their profits.

Stay Tuned for More DeGods Alpha

More information about the mint as well as the mint website should be dropping soon. We will be monitoring the situation and sharing any relevant updates. We also recommend keeping an eye on @frankdegods and @DeGodsNFT on Twitter. If you have any questions about using Xverse DMs on Twitter or join the Xverse wallet Discord. Good luck!
